Hello!! Long time...

Hello!!!

I kept away from writing because I did not have something good to write about.

The elections in Bengal, the ouster of a 34 year old governing party, the eruption of 'mukti' in the air had its own charm for a little while.

I continued meeting people, old and new to build the story of organised farming. Writers-building looked the same but felt different. The new district magistrate of the city is our dear friend Narayan from old days of Kharagpur.

We are on the anvil of a new law that will perhaps take away the 24 acre ceiling in Bengal; in two weeks or so, the law should be tabled locally. This will help us to get into a larger new farm that I have been working on, all this while.

The biggest agriculture exhibition of Asia silently happened in India-Agritech Asia was from the 6th to the 8th of September in Bombay. Flew into the exhibition in the morning and came back to Calcuta for dinner. One hangar was the dedicated space for everybody; the melee at the registration counter epitomised our national lack of planning; there could have been so much more that could have done...too bad!!

Folks, we are pitching for something really critical this month; pray for us!

Cheers!!

Journey of Bhoomi Crop

Journey of Bhoomi Crop
Bhoomi Crop is the first limited liability organised farming and distribution company in Bengal. Four CXO level friends put this together. We have no formal training in the art and science of farming and everyday, I, Kaushik Mukherji, learn a new lesson at the farm. Illiterate farmers in the villages, the closeby IIT (Kharagpur) are my teachers and supporters. We are extremely bullish on this business opportunity, which is already making a social difference too.
